Costs

We understand that creative practitioners are often on a low income, therefore, Studio Faire has been set up with this in mind and aims to cater for artists who enjoy their independence and prefer minimum ‘frills’ in order to keep costs down.

We are happy to offer staged payments, provide a letter of support for a funding application or assistance with promoting a crowdfunding campaign, following a successful application. Further details below.

We offer 2-week or 4-week residencies to up to six people at a time.

Our residencies begin on a Thursday and end on a Wednesday.

We keep things simple with our prices remaining the same throughout the year.

Main House

Rates include: Private bedroom and workspace, shared shower rooms, toilets, kitchen, dining room and gardens, plus cleaning and WiFi (high-speed fibre broadband) throughout the property.

Faire Deux

Rates include: Self-contained apartment with kitchen/living room, double bedroom, shower room, private studio, and gardens, plus weekly cleaning, air conditioning and WiFi.

Payments
Successful applicants will be sent confirmation of dates and an invoice with information about how to pay.
They shall confirm their intention to participate and forward a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the fee within 14 days.
The final 50% should be paid two months before the residency start date.

Crowdfunding

If you have a specific project in mind and you feel that you will be able to convince friends and family that this project will benefit your practice, you may be able to raise the money for your residency through a crowdfunding campaign.

Having run a successful campaign for Studio Faire in 2016, we would be happy to help and advise you with this process should you wish.

We suggest that you plan at least six months ahead of your residency start date.

There are plenty of Crowdfunding websites to choose from. These are rated the top three:

https://www.gofundme.com/

https://www.kickstarter.com/

https://www.indiegogo.com/ (we used this one for our campaign)

Please contact us if you’d like to discuss these funding options further or would like our assistance with your application or campaign.
