Our winter ‘break’ is drawing to an end and we are gearing up to welcome our first three residents of 2020 in just 10 days time! We are extremely excited to be kicking the year off with three fabulous creative practitioners and will introduce these to you one by one over the coming days.
Firstly, let us introduce you to Celie Byrne (if you don’t know of her already?!?!) Celie is a Fine Art Painter from Scotland (and daughter of the fantastic Artist and Playwright John Byrne). Her work ranges from large scale murals to installation-based art to portrait painting. You may have seen one of her fabulously quirky portraits exhibited in Scotland at the BP Portrait Award Exhibition or perhaps in London at the Royal Academy of Arts? If not then maybe you’ve spotted one of her large scale murals on your travels?
If not, then watch this space for more news on her residency developments and have a listen to her latest project ‘Living By The Seaside’ in ‘A collection by The Grand Gestures’ which features her good pal Phill Jupitus amongst others.
