Studio Faire’s 2026 Residency Programme launched on 22 January with a wonderful cohort of international artists.

Over the next four weeks, we are delighted to host four Writers-in-Residence from São Paulo, Las Vegas, Leeds, and Canada (now based in Paris). Their projects span a rich range of ideas and forms: one explores what happens when fictional characters come to life; another focuses on coming-of-age stories within Asian immigrant communities in the Bay Area. One writer is deeply engaged with the literature of the Indian subcontinent and the wider Muslim world, while another will develop a one-act play for an actress and her life-size puppet.

Following the writers’ residencies, in mid-February, we are looking forward to hosting three musicians for Faire Play and their next collaboration residency. This group includes a Turkish sound artist based in Berlin, a Milan-born singer and producer, and a piri performer (the Korean traditional bamboo instrument) from Seoul, now based in London.

Finally, mark 6 February in your diary for the release of three ambient indie tracks from Faire Play’s music day session with Toulouse-based duo Baba Chiki, recorded earlier this January. You’ll be able to hear this by searching ‘Faire Play Records’ wherever you get your music or watch a short film of the recording, plus interviews, on YouTube @studiofaireplay

It’s great to be getting going again, with so much more to look forward to this year also!
