We are extremely happy and proud to launch our new YouTube channel @studiofaireplay and record label ‘Faire Play Records’ with the results of our first collaboration residency:

‘From the Blue (Home Again)’

One Italian, one American (now living in Edinburgh, Scotland) and one Ukrainian (now living in Edmonton, Canada), met for the first time to collaborate on a new piece of music. Brought together by one Dutch sound engineer and one Scottish creative at one French location.

The results were impressive to say the least!

Singer-songwriter Alas de Liona, pianist Sasha Lattuca and violinist Viktoria Grynenko spent 4 days intensely collaborating at Studio Faire, enveloped in the surrounding warmth and beauty of Nérac and fed and watered by the hosts at Studio Faire, and on the final day, filmed and recorded the results in the garden studio.

The result has been published TODAY on ‘Faire Play Records’ to all streaming platforms and the channel episode created from the collaboration, including interviews with the musicians, can be found on YouTube alongside the video for the track.

We are extremely excited to release the results of this first collaboration residency and truly can’t believe the levels of creativity and talent that flourished. The three musicians were united in this celebration of creativity and also became good friends.

Visuals

The 6 minute piece performed by all three of the musicians begins with a moving violin solo played over jazzesque piano and some programmed ambience. The lush vocals and lyrics are then introduced and the tune comes into its own before crescendoing beautifully.

The musicians blended together so well in their performance that it was a joy to record and mix the audio.
