About our residencies

Residents live and work in the house, studios and gardens of Studio Faire, a Maison de maître built around 1830 and still retaining its period characteristics. Accommodation is provided on a self-catering basis, with a private bedroom, plus shared interior and exterior living and work space. Rooms and studios are spacious and mature gardens offer private, shaded space for work and play.

Our residencies can offer time to focus on research and development to inspire a new body of work or develop an existing project. They can nurture the growth of seedling ideas by giving the space to unselfconsciously experiment and play without expectation or obligation.

In addition to using this time to explore new ideas and develop work, residents are encouraged to take every opportunity to develop relationships with the other creative people at Studio Faire and with the local community in order to exchange ideas and experiences, and obtain constructive feedback.

There is much to see and do within easy walking distance or we are happy to give you a lift to points of interest specific to your project.

Studio Faire is not offered as a holiday destination, other than to friend’s of the hosts on rare occasion.

English is the primary language of the daily correspondence and conversation.
