Come and stay at Studio Faire for a week and learn Photography with Colin Usher in this stunning region of South West France.
Courses run from Thursday evening to the following Wednesday.
During this course, you will be welcomed into our Maison de maître and given your own private double bedroom.
Thursday evening will offer time for settling in and getting to know each other over a glass of our local wine.
Friday will be spent getting to know your camera by going MANUAL to shoot smarter! Colin will show you how to be more creative with your camera’s functions in the photography studio and gardens of Studio Faire. You will learn how to utilise both natural and studio flash light, and be given some of Colin’s secrets for creating stunning compositions.
On Saturday, you will be taken out and about. Firstly in Nérac, to the wonderful farmer’s market, and later to the gorgeous surrounding area, so that Colin can show you how best to capture the beauty of the people, produce, architecture and landscapes.
Sunday will provide the opportunity to focus on Portrait Photography. Colin will show you how to capture portraits that are full of life, that reveal the character of your sitter, that are animated and playful, or calm and professional.
Monday is a day of rest… but it’s also a chance to digest and practice what you have learned so far, either in the studio or whilst taking a stroll along the river Baïse.
The key to completing truly outstanding photographs is post production, so Tuesday morning will focus on developing your favourite shots using Adobe Lightroom to ensure they are useable on social media as well being print-ready.
Tuesday afternoon will give you time to hone your skills and draw together all of the elements learned across the week with a coming together on Wednesday morning for constructive feedback on your progress.

Students should bring their own camera and ideally a laptop for post production.
The course will be personally tailored to your existing technical and creative knowledge, plus your own equipment (camera and any available software).
This course is for adults and will be taught in English, however, French students who wish to improve their spoken English are encouraged to attend and, for these students, a mixture of French and English will be spoken.
A double bedroom will be made available for this course. This room shares a shower room with toilet with two other residents. Accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis, with a shared kitchen providing all the basics, including self service laundry facilities.
