This week saw us open our doors for the first time to host a 1 day course : Mastering Portraiture with Colin Usher, An inspiring photographic day class at Studio Faire in Nérac.
Two great students attended, Janey & Fiona, who were so enthusiastic that it made for a most creative and entertaining day.
We spent time with each of the student’s cameras, working with studio strobe lighting, setting the mood, catching character, discussing purpose, telling picture stories and we finished off with a short session on post production & image processing utilising Adobe Lightroom.
The day was fully experiential and hands-on with the cameras and lights in Studio Faire’s main studio space (currently lovingly named the Usher Hall) and over lunch, (prepared by Julia) we discussed everyone’s passion for photography and the stunning surrounding region.
The end of the day came far too quickly and everyone left with a series of shots taken by themselves and of each other.
We are very pleased to have kicked off creative activities here at Studio Faire. More classes and day courses will be announced soon.
Our doors open to self-funded, self-directed residencies in Spring 2018.
